Autobiography

Deron Michael Williams  was born on June 26,1984 in Parkersburg,West Virginia. The family moved to suburban Dallas when Deron was a kid. Deron learned to love basketball from his mom and played at a high level as a kid.By his senior year, Deron was a superb ball handler and play maker.  Deron was recruited by a handful of major programs, including the University of Illinois.  3 years ago Amy (Derno’s wife) and Deron had found out their son Dj  was diagnosed with autism. Dj  was adopted and diagnosed with autism spectrum  at 18 months.Inspired by D.J., for the third straight year Williams hosted Autism Awareness Night during a game.In support of his foundation, he partnered up with a couple of season-ticket holders to donate their suites for families  with autistic children. In addition, the family has made a concerted effort to get D.J. involved with taekwondo and horseback riding. They are useful sports for autistic children because one teaches them motor skills using their hands and feet on the mat, while the other concentrates on focus through the relaxing movement riding in the saddle.
